Signs that he *might* be ready...
Officially, he will be 6 months old in about a week. He can sit supported in a high chair, bring things to his mouth (and when I say things, I mean whatever he can get his grubby little hands on), and can refuse things (he tells me he's done nursing by twisting his head the other way and refusing to make eye contact).
He does not, however, have any teeth yet, nor is he acting "hungry" after nursing. So I dunno.
I don't want to over think the solids thing but at the same time, I want him to get the right start. So I'm thinking of just giving him a little banana in a week or so and seeing what he does with it. If its not a hit for whatever reason, I'll wait a couple weeks and try again. But it would be fun for the first solids event to coinside with my mom's visit to us next week. Wouldn't it?

So that's how I will be spending this weekend- scrubbing, vacuuming, dusting, and all that crap- probably alot of it with a baby strapped to my back. I know, I know, people do it (and more!) all the time. That doesn't make it fun, though, does it?
